Tomorrow's Shadow

Tomorrow is always looking back at us

We chase it
We appeal to it
We prostrate before it
We bathe in its shadow
But it is not loyal to us

We rise anew everyday not knowing if tomorrow will divorce us

But what choices do we have

Appeasement or abandonment

We are enveloped in its judgement
For one day there won't be a tomorrow we can move with our will to make or
mould molehills or monuments

These sentiments
Bring relevance to our present predicaments

Shall we forever live for a time we will never grasp
Or do we sacrifice a part of our precious commodity being a present presence
To present our future descendants with

To take up the baton previous generations didn't want to run with

Should we build pyramids of sand castles
