Beliefs are the police of the mind

Saul Williams once decried beliefs are the police of the mind
For all the status
Strength and wealth
Ideas are more valuable and stronger than them all
We forget or are ignorant to how strong the mind is

When we think of health we think of the body but regularly forget the mind
You find world leaders are not usually in shape 🏋🏿🏋🏾♀️
And bodybuilders are not usually voices of a movement
Beliefs can empower us but also cripple us and can be exploited

How many groups have been infiltrated by informers

We are all have our own police forces in our heads but how strict is our own department
Do we aggressively attack the unknown
Do we distrust all newcomers
Do we reward loyalty at all cost
Deep seated ideologies reign supreme
Do we have the rookies
Do we look after our own at all costs
Do we aim to update or do we aim to maintain aka stagnate
Whilst only replacing ideas due to wear and tear

Do we get our ideas all from the same store

Like how you can get an IKEA fitted house

Are we individuals
Do we only want to be when it suits us
We want to be parts of bigger collectives but decry that we are individuals even if we are indistinguishable from the mob

Are our police force more like passport control
Simply checking if the documentation is correct and then we let the ideas pass through
Or are we more like an airport
With rigorous checks and pat downs

For all the outside world has to offer which is innumerable
What do we really know of ourselves
Are we mediocre humans in high class clothing or with an extraordinary exterior
How can we process the truths of the world without processing the truths in ourselves
What good is clean water if we are drinking from dirty cups

What happens when I leave my borders and enter yours
How might your police 👮 treat me
