politicized religion

Timothy Schmalz created this bronze sculpture of Jesus. “I’m very sensitive about the stereotypes that people have of Christianity, so I wanted to give a fresh presentation.”

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/15/jesus-the-homeless-sculpture-rejected-catholic-churches_n_3085584.html
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/jesus-homeless-finds-home-article-1.1321038

whilst reading the article it talked about how the sculpture could not find a home and was rejected by some churches as being controversial or to vague

well last time we checked there was no official picture of jesus only artistic impressions and artistic twists

but what also came to mind is that people were not used to this kind of portrayal
and this seems to have motivated some churches against the sculpture

mark 2 v 17
On hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
New Living Translation (©2007)
When Jesus heard this, he told them, "Healthy people don't need a doctor--sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners."

  talk about <<<<<
matthew 19 v 24
Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy
matthew 6 v 19

which was confirmed when i told them jesus was for the poor
he ate and conversed with sinners
the people at the bottom of social ladders and castes

and was against materialism
and even pointed out that it will make it harder for you to get to heaven

yet there are some churches whose sermons revolve around the monetary issue

and the divisions in christianity have lead some to have skipped out on their history and how political and powerful it was
and it was for the opposite of who you picture as faces of it now

with phrases as the meek shall inherit the earth

got me thinking how many meek people do i find

mattthew 18 v 21 to 22
21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

with that much forgiving how could anyone wage war in the name of christianity

which brought me to the fact most people do not read

i will leave you with this

some may say blasphemy

Schooling is not education part 1

education

for most people
school and education
is synonymous

but for others is not so

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_ZmM7zPLyI

for following the logic all people who go to school are educated
and if school is compulsory so most people go to school in west
then following those lines of logic everybody in the west is educated

but the next thing interjected would be to a degree
just as it is synonymous for people that those who have a degree are intelligent

for where does that leave in the general consensus those who do not go to school or have no degrees

for in one of my previous posts i talked about autodidacts
people who taught themselves

but aside from that making school redundant

what is this prevailing canopy which suggest that schooling is education

i remarked before that education comes from the greek meaning to draw out or bring forth

but as in the  video^^

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-eVF_G_p-Y

and this video^^^

the symptoms created by the over arching theme of school is education

and that an exam will decide their fate
when it is you who does so

and how individualism is not incorporated
in schools
but individualism is the basis of education

and for the fact with school you are praised for following and being obedient
and shunned for the opposites

and that you are never reared to be your own teacher
Good Guy Teacher

for most students it is a day of rejoicing once they hear these scenarios

school is closed
teacher is sick
or reading week
Lazy College Senior

i even heard a man who can twice over be my dad
yes very weird
make a joke about going back to school and how he feels like a kid

where schooling and education is synonymous
and that education is bound to school

and the foolish notion of their is a time for education
and more noticeably it is for the young

but he is not alone in this thinking
for many people
they can not wait to leave school and work
and even celebrate never touching a textbook again

many people put this down to school just making people cram
and their education is revolved around exams rather than learning

to be fair their is always one teacher who breaks the mold and students look forward to their classes

The knowledge or the uni fallacy

that is the purpose of youth for some
but it is definately the purpose of uni

right
the old
but is everything exchanged knowledge
ponder that one

but carrying on knowledge
this intangible thing
where is it housed
and how can an intangible thing be housed
ponder that
oh the intangible has ties with the tangible
so if the tangible is horded you horde knowledge
well that is the theory

well

henrich heine saw the attempt

but as ray bradbury put it you do not have the burn books you have to get people to stop reading them

and then all you have to do is propose when
people should read them to have a monopoly
on knowledge
alah university

some say plato created the first western university
yes western

some say
this is the worlds oldest university
but rather than sweat the details of the worlds oldest we get to the concept uni as it is generally abbreviated
the place of knowledge
even if some of the people who work inside
have never been or are even able to entertain stimulating conversation
ah university
where automatic intelligence is placed upon a person even if their
extra curricular activities are anti intellectual

this list starts of with a course that you can study david beckham
here is another list though the joy of garbage is a very intriguing one
this one had one about being a jedi

and then you have
published this year about students being scared off of philosophy

so back to the main point about knowledge
what knowledge are people attaining from university at all
since you do all your own work

but concentrating on the fact that if you go to university
a place of learning
should you not come back changed
so if you go to uni and come back the same person
what did you learn
what did you add to yourself

and it comes down to priorities
some people who have never been to uni and do not read yet want to call them selves elders
questioned me when i first started
why philosophy what job can you do with that

and naively then i was defending it
which was validating your views
the point of learning is not for monetary gain it is the betterment of yourself
you can choose it for gain but that is what it should be

for you see some people are physically talented but not mentally acute

for yes it is fictional
this person went to uni did information technology
yet had no books in his house

for for some people as soon as uni is done it is like no more learning yep my learning phase is over

when in truth we never stop learning

one of my philosophy class mates used to say the greeks would say i am the perfect man
because he works on his body as well as his mind
and that unification is missing
especially with the mentality of just getting a job

a lot of people put people up as he is a genius
or she is a genius
question is what is stopping you
for example instead of doing business management
you did a degree in science or one of the social sciences

for what use is lopsided growth
men who spend eons in a gym yet cannot string contingent sentences together
or knowledgeable yet incredibly unhealthy

it comes down to perceptions again you choose
but you have to open your scope
university is not the be all and end all
nor is the lack of money
since knowledge is free
it is people who charge

there are free ebooks and there are libraries
and you can always be an autodidact

and this ties in with the previous post of elders and this post of where does your course run

“A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.” Greek proverb
