Martin you are the king jr

Mlk jr day is a day celebrated by many especially in america
but it was pointed out to me that only since the noughties has it been a recognised national holiday in all fifty american states

martin was branded many things in his day but what gets me is the way he is branded now
and what are people really celebrating when they celebrate mlk jr day

is it the case of appeasement a spin move on the side of pr
to promote what the system was once again and that history favors the victor
and the worrying thing is that without a civil rights movement
the same country that celebrates a holiday in his honour would of gladly carried on its racist oppressive ways

or is it the case of people celebrating that there are people who will stand up for what they believe in against all odds and adversities
and it gives hopes to others fighting other fights that even though now they may call you a trouble maker a conspiracy theorist and many other things
they may even set dogs on you and burn your house down
but through all that you may get to the mountain top
and see the promised land you are helping to pave the way for

or is it a celebration that we are being aware of history and will not be doomed to repeat it
and though through omission and misinformation about the transatlantic slave trade and its remnants there is at least one beacon you are aware of who fought back against injustice hatred and ignorance

which gets us to ponder as we go from this

would we do a martin luther king jr

and are there some causes still looking for a champion

because even though it is called martin luther king day
we know so many more names it could be called by and perhaps we all name it after different people

like malcolm x day or angela davis day or
huey newton day
rosa parks day
harriet tubman day
steve biko day

The Brevity of the Bookshelf

Another gem from the film i was previously watching
i will review it shortly

the main character asked a girl who was house sitting
if she had read any of the books upon the shelf they were standing by
she unsurprisingly said no
he then asked if she was familiar with the book he was holding
she said no
he said you have
think about it
then jogged her memory

but it got me thinking who still has bookshelves
and that you can tell someone by their bookshelves
or lack of bookshelf
seeing as they are their depositories of information

and how a bookshelf is cliche
a cliche of intellectuality
the holder the hoister of of instruments for
the intelligentsia
but is it still the insignia of intellectuality
for with technology
books can be digitized
having the power of numerous bookshelves
so bookshelves are obsolete
or are they

for as i said prior an insignia a memebership card of sorts
for as true musicians have adoration for the classics and
have vinyl
is it the same with books
or is it just archaic affectionate affiliations
and what of those bright sparks not on the branch
of literary arts
and they need not be with the style of visual arts
and the audio arena
or am i fishing here
and their is no spin for those who shun
of the bounded word commonly known as books

for i was reminded of how many people dispute darwin yet
have not read the preface or even the blurb
and i was even able to download it free off the android market

so does intellectuality perhaps need to redesign itself
perhaps baring a slogan brevity of bookshelf is a brevity of self
for you would expect to see in the domicile
of a fitness fanatic
the gear and apparatus of the trade
as with the musician
for without them could we still hand
them their titles of participatories of said categories

and that is only stationary but what of on the move
for those who are computer savvy you will see them
on the move with the tools of their trade
so what of the intellectual
for when i travel a book is high upon my itinerary
but does any book suffice

for are we reaching a shift where the
entrance requirements are being redefined
for bookshelves can become mausoleums
a tourist attraction devoid of true life
where the books become a fashion
accessory
rather than an accessory of the mind

or is it a reaction to brevity
for if you have no books in your
home how inclined are you to reading
outside of it

For more than be the storage of the wisdom of contemporary
and yesteryear they are landmarks
within
the architecture
of ones abode
creating scenery
creating surrounding
and if they are missing from your
surrounding what is their instead of it
the tv
the radio
the storage of your fashion ensemble

what does the brevity of the bookshelf mean
we only have to look at
the effect places devoid of them have on us and others

Boredom/idleness=Broaden/investment

I am currently watching a film which  i will review later on
which brought me back to this topic
the sometimes synonymous
interchangeable
interloping
interlocking
Boredom and idleness

Views have a perspective and this has a western city perspective
boredom is a worry and fear of many people
it is moaned it is groaned
and at every turn banished but for some to regularly raise its head again

Some say boredom is eternal foe of humanity
but is it boredom or idleness
we have all heard of the saying the devil makes work of idle hands
which the response is to be busy with your hands
but the saying is only half of the equation

we can think of boredom as a comma and idleness as a full stop the calm before the storm
i myself cannot remark on the last time i was bored
i personally think within a city it is impossible to bored
whereas idleness is around every corner the interlude the interval
between events

which bertrand russell goes into great depths to discuss
but it rose to my attention i said before because of this film
the character retorts how humans have been given the
human anatomy
the understanding of to a degree
they have nature
they have cosmos
and i add they have the internet and they are bored

then it got me thinking what people get bored
and what people get idle
sheep get bored
and wolves or foxes get idle
whereas these coming days of holiday for some they will be
chasing lights and others in an attempt to not be bored

this festive period i was given some food for thought
what do you do with family
and when i saw these archaic games
i chuckled to myself of how people
lost the art of entertaining themselves

one may say that the entertainment has evolved
but in what sense
that with the archaic games ones mind as well as eyes had to be engaged in the case of scrabble
monopoly chess and so forth yes you can get them electronically
but how popular is it

as with films how many blockbuster movies are there devoid of explosions and eye candy
but i digress

i now refer to a previous post on the film limitless
how one can be limited within the limitless
and that the problems are of the mind but are wrongly being attacked through the body
for some one phrase can keep them occupied for hours perhaps days
i even conversed through a social medium
with a person who claimed to not have uttered a word for three days

i remarked at how he managed to do so
more from the point of others boredom attempting to encroach on his idleness

for with idleness one can find themselves or see things that one through the hustle and bustle would miss
but with boredom the bandwagons are bountiful

for me boredom is blasphemy but shows ones sense of sight
for within a room in the average household are a million questions
you never thought to ask

from how do tvs work or radios or mobile phones
how many hairs are on a head
how long can you not speak for
could i reverse engineer the products in my house
could i read the dictionary from cover to cover
etc

some may say they dont have time but they make time to battle boredom and also why not change that they time is preoccupied

i will leave on this

if boredom leads to following what does idleness lead to
and if this continues
where will society end up
the people who succumb to boredom a majority on one side
and idleness on another

An outlet for a swollen womb

I have returned to my once discarded blog
my want for an outlet for my swollen womb
has got the better of me philosophy and i
in this deadly embrace nurturing yet sinister
its offspring and its foe embroiled in one
it seems in my moments away i have returned to my platonic cave
feasting off my own ever abundant well
might i be now as the dandelion casting off her seeds whether they bloom or not
whilst previously i have been the mother hen vivaciously guarding all her eggs
The individual is always at odds with the tribe
sectioned and alone for their conflictorary existence
the loneliness bothers me not
but my womb
and its birth pangs
painting a muriel of a perfect earth
for what are doctors without patients
mere surveyors of hospital wards
what are generals without a war
hunters without prey
the lame without aid

problems of philosophy part 1

philosophy the love of wisdom
has been forgotten is a way of life
one cannot be a philosopher if one is merely text books and jargon
and they are just really fancy footed notion of simplistic ideals

philosophy is life it is ones being one reshapes one is remolded one is like water it can be of many states

philosophy has lost that people regurgitate without ever producing or improving on ideas writing papers of quantity not of quality
why spend a thousand words mumbling over a subject which may be better said with a few lines

if philosophy is a way of life should it not deal with it not rummaging through ideas of archaic nature

philosophy is estranged from the very people it is here to influence the like minded and the not so

hiding behind doctorates yet professing to be ideally descendants of socrates who is so far away from the grotesque image they are.

the power of ones reasoning and ones argument meant one was qualified not their degrees

But corruption has sunk in selling books holding talks for name and office only

philosophy has fallen so far behind the other sciences it merely gives lips service to it

using science as back up yet it is not the case the other way round

philosophy begs importance begs to be acknowledged for works or yesteryear's

siring scholars of impotent natures in matters of ideas and innovations

Originality??

originality is such a hard thing to do and the effort one needs to take to ensure it the problem arises of originality
and publication

one can be original but the absence of publication then makes the originality at threat to thieves and eyes of lesser minds

and to search if you are original gives opportunity of being found and no longer being original

i now denounce descry

i am rebel reasoner

this is a digression but this a showcase of my thoughts and interactive soliloquy

What Happened to philosophy (introduction)

My first blog....
So i am descry the philosopher
so to begin with you may find it unusual or even confusing that i don't use all the types of convention punctuation
quirk or rebellion i will let you philosophise about that..

So to dive straight in i am dissatisfied with a few things which i will address in the subsequent blogs
For information is out there but we cannot always see
sometimes others are torches illuminating certain objects
or are pathways to higher consciousness
some just point us in the right direction

So the descrier is here asking "What happened to philosophy"
